Sup guys,
It seems like quite few bands have been on the move with blogs. Radiohead just recently started up their own, called Dead Air Space. Pretty nifty, but we got to it first.
That's what I am talking about.
An update: We have had a few individuals listen to the album "Darfur" and have taken a liking to it. One of our fellow comrades in crime is in the process of setting up a radio gig. We shall see how that goes. In the meantime, we attend our classes, shuffle through the day, and eat our tootsie rolls.
Which brings us to something new:
New album still in the works. This one will take a while. An EP is nearly complete, and we're quite excited. We have decided to label the project "Nephi Detox". For those of you who understand the code, good for you. For those that don't, it's not hard to crack. Nothing a google search won't cure.
Sadly we must fly. Don't expect a new album for some time, if ever. Things seem to fly and die in our faces constantly. This provides a problem. We can never see.

Hey guys,
It has been a LONG time since we last put up a post concerning the band or any music that we might've composed. Well, now is the time for such an update.
Since June, Mediadroid took a brief hiatus to enjoy the pleasures of summer. It ended up turning Mediadroid into a one-man band. It has ended up being landed into the hands of Drew Hayes. With that came a period where I just wasn't sure if I wanted to continue with music.
To all the musicians out there, I understand the pain of not having people who wanted to hear your music. What's worse is when you let them listen, and they destroy it. You're not supposed to let that get to you as an artist, but it unfortunately did with me.
So I decided to take a break from music. I even thought about just letting it go indefinitely. I wasn't feeling like I got anything accomplished, and that just plain out...well sucked.
Through a lot of thought and insight from various individuals, I have decided to return to the ropes of music. I missed doing it too much. SO Mediadroid, for the time being, is going solo. However, I am looking for new people who would want to join a ambient experimental band. The money is not to be found. But there is plenty of fun to be had by all.

The music just doesn't stop coming.
While trying to figure out a way for everyone to hear any of the music that we have recorded, we keep on recording. I suppose we should concentrate on one thing at a time, eh?
Well, right now we are compiling a bunch of B-Sides together. It came from the first recording sessions this past summer along with recordings from both Aaron Hanes and Drew Hayes. Along with acoustic recordings, we will also provide several recordings from drummer Graham Garrison and Drew Hayes.
Concerning a video, because of our lack of money and technology we will put together two live recordings of two or three of our acoustic songs. Maybe we will put together a compilation of video material during the recording sessions. More to come. This is merely an update for all who are interested.

(no particular subject needed)
So Mediadroid is attempting to put together a live show...of sorts.
With the help of eight-year veteran drummer Graham Garrison and Thomas Monaco, Mediadroid is going to attempt to videotape a performance that will consist of a few songs from both Age Y and Darfur. Not too much more information at the moment.
We are also working on upgrading our site. Only one of the links work at the moment. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Hey guys, It's Drew here from Mediadroid. Well, the last post was talking about a new album that we started and nearly finished. Many of you are wondering "what the heck? they did another album?" Yup, we did. You know how most people find their life's calling when something fateful happens. Well, for Mediadroid, it happened when Darfur entered our minds. It truly is a terrible situation that is occurring in our very world on this very day. Well anyway you can read the post about it. Anyway, we got a hold of some new instruments through a group of good friends of ours, and we started messing around with them. We had no intention on recording any more work for a while, simply because Age Y took so long to complete (a little over a year). But see, when we kept playing, we kept coming up with these various ideas for projects. Then, we put together our awareness of Darfur and incorporated a concept of improv-music making and the result was our new concept album simply entitled: Darfur. By improv, we mean it. We started it on and finished it on complete randomness. The result is what I think pretty awesome. It doesn't sound a whole lot like Age Y at all, but it is something that I very proud of. Because right now we are on brief hiatus for the summer, we believe that this album mostly is complete. It still needs to be mixed, but that's the easy part. ::whew:: a lot to talk about in one post right? Well anyway, continue to check out the site for more information about Mediadroid and the situation in Darfur. For more information concerning the genocide, visit savedarfur.orgAlso, concerning information about our current album "Age Y", there will be information on it as soon as possible. Now that I have some free time, I can finally work on making this site a little more pleasing to the eye. Later people, and thanks for keeping up!

Since our last update, we began our album dedicated to the effort of stopping the genocide in the Sudan. Well, after roughly two and a half weeks, we are done with roughly five tracks, and we think that the album is near completion
With the exception of some other various track mixing and so forth, all basic work is done on it. We are thoroughly pleased with our work, and we definitely think it's a step in another direction. It sounds nothing like Age Y, and it was our intent to branch as far from it as possible. More updates soon.

A preventable humanitarian crisis, affecting more than two million people, is raging in the Darfur region of western Sudan. Not since the Rwanda genocide of 1994 has the world seen such a calculated campaign of slaughter, rape, starvation and displacement. Government-backed militias, known collectively as the Janjaweed, are systematically eliminating entire communities of African tribal farmers. Villages are being razed, women and girls raped and branded, men and boys murdered, and food and water supplies targeted and destroyed. Victims report that government air strikes frequently precede militia raids. Mediadroid demands justice For more infortmation, visit http://www.savedarfur.org

And thus a new update for all who read about us. Just a month after completing Age Y, we have already begun work on a new project. Following in the paths of the great George Crumb and other modern composers. It definitely will sound even more different than most mainstream music. But it'll be cool. We don't expect this to take nearly as long as Age Y. Anyway, not too much more to talk about right now. We will gladly take ideas for album names. You guys got any good album titles??
